William Argent, adviser to the VT Gravis Clean Energy Fund and the VT Gravis UK Infrastructure Income Fund, says: “The announcement of new funding and tax incentives for electric car drivers is another demonstration of the government’s commitment to reducing greenhouse emissions and reducing the country’s reliance on fossil fuels. The measures include a new £400m charging infrastructure fund, which is of critical importance in encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles.”

He added: “The one year extension and overall increase in the National Productivity Investment Fund to £31bn provides an additional boost to spending that targets areas that are critical for productivity while encouraging private investment in infrastructure. Areas that are likely to benefit from the increase include housing, research & development, and economic infrastructure initiatives such as improvements to the national road network and connectivity networks.”
